Sola Scriptura

Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight. ~ Psalm 119:77, NLT

The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. ~ Proverbs 10:22, NLT

I will walk among you. I will be your God, and you will be my people. ~ Leviticus 26:12, NLT

The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. ~ 1 Samuel 16:7, NLT

But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. ~ Romans 6:22, NLT

And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame. ~ 1 John 2:28, NLT

Love the Sola Scriptura! I cringe inwardly at the second one only because it's the kind of thing that a televangelist might take out of context and use as a promise of $$.

The freedom from sin/slave of Christ is a spiritual truth that is still being worked out as a present reality on a daily basis in my life. I'm not there yet!

to me "rich" doesn't mean money. I've never had lots of money and I know I'm never going to have lots of money and I don't care about that. To me, when God makes a person "rich" it's SO much more than money! But yeah, I totally see that point.

Freedom for me is a daily thing. I would love to say that I live in freedom daily, but that's just not true. It's more than daily, it's moment to moment that I have to remind myself that I am free from sin, it has no hold on me. And then remind myself to let it go.

Yeah, Shanna- you're right. Rich is an issue of definition. I'm rich, but make about what I made coming out of high school and working at a shoe store in the mall. But I'm absolutely wealthy beyond measure. Thanks for the feedback- helps me process truth...
